Welcome to McNair Middle School

Principals Message

Dr. Lynn Faught

Middle school is a critical time period where, cognitively, developmentally, emotionally, and socially, students experience growth, challenges, and discovery. McNair Middle School is focused on providing a safe, welcoming environment by developing and maintaining relationships of respect and kindness with our students and families. We believe that authentic partnerships between parents and the school play a vital role in assisting students to achieve his/her own personal excellence in academics and life.

One of the most valuable gifts we can give our students is confidence. Through encouragement and support we strive to provide a safe and fulfilling place for students to transition to young adolescents. The foundation of the McNair culture is our emphasis on building relationships, creating authentic, innovative educational experiences, having a student-centered focus, and developing personalized learning opportunities.

The faculty and staff at McNair are driven by the goal of professional excellence, and each team member takes pride in contributing in the success of our students. We continue to strive for excellence by growing professionally in our knowledge of middle school philosophy and the middle level learners, building a positive and dynamic school culture, rigorous content-area Professional Learning Communities, and elevating our collaborative teams.

The curriculum taught at McNair affords each child academic opportunities for project-based, collaborative and technology-infused learning experiences that are relevant and challenging. We encourage students to take academic risks and learn from mistakes, while we provide the necessary supports.

We thank you for the opportunity to educate and care for your child. We take this honor and responsibility very seriously and will work each day to make their middle school years the best years. We value the input of all parents in improving our school. We welcome your suggestions and feedback. Please feel free to call me at 479-718-0251 or email me at lynn.faught@fayar.net. Education is the most powerful gift we can give to children. The middle school years are exciting and full of change. This can be difficult, but providing a safe and encouraging space - with clear expectations and support for growth - allows for children to learn. I am committed to partnering with you to ensure your child reaches their full potential. I look forward to learning about your family but in the meantime, here is a little about me.

I am a proud product of my neighborhood public schools in Richardson, Texas! After high school, I attended Southern Methodist University (SMU) for my bachelors and later returned for a Master of Education in school leadership. I have been in education for 13 years, serving as a teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. The majority of my years were spent in Dallas ISD but I most recently had the pleasure of being a kindergarten teacher at Leverett Elementary in Fayetteville. My husband and I moved to Fayetteville in summer 2021 and have quickly fallen in love with the people and landscape.

Being a student or educator was certainly challenging amidst the pandemic. However, McNair's stories of student resilience and family support, along with the impressive caliber of the staff who stepped up to the challenge have blown me away! I look forward to meeting you all and being a part of the Mustang family.

Best wishes,

Nicola Thorn

Hi, my name is Randy Oxford. I am thrilled to be your new Assistant Principal. A few things about me; I’m married to my wonderful wife Lesa, and we have two children, Ryan (18) and Lauryn (13).  I grew up in nearby Springdale. After graduating from high school I went to Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Most of my career has been in Northeast Arkansas. I was principal at Brookland Middle School for 10 years before moving back here to Fayetteville. We moved back to be closer to family. This past year I’ve been principal at Huntsville Middle School. I have always felt that McNair is the finest example of what it means to be a Middle School and I am so grateful to be part of your team.

Go Mustangs!
