January’s Harvest of the Month is the amazing ACORN SQUASH!

This month, students and staff will sample “Acorn Squash Smiles” during their lunchtime taste tests. The acorn squash was locally grown by Dickey Farms in Tontitown, AR. Acorn squash is named after it’s shape- it actually looks like a giant green acorn! Acorn squash is native to North and Central America, and it is the healthiest of all the different squash varieties.

If students or staff like the recipe it can be found on our Seed to Student Facebook page, our Child Nutrition Department website and in the staff newsletter. The recipe was also sent home to families via PeachJar.
