Welcome to Butterfield! Our school has a rich and proud heritage, dating back to 1968 when it opened its doors as the first open space school in Arkansas. We maintained the open space (school without walls) environment for over 40 years, moving to a more traditional setting in 2008 when a new construction/renovation project was completed. We are very proud of our beautiful building which features a gorgeous foyer and lots of windows and natural light throughout the building. Our gymnasium, which is detached from the main building, is a beautiful facility that serves both our students and many outside recreational groups as well.
Currently we serve 520 students in grades PreK-4. We have 21 regular classroom teachers, as well as a support staff that includes art, music, PE, library, special education, ESL, technology, as well as literacy/math coaches. Because we are a Title I school, we receive federal funds which are utilized primarily for instructional aides to support students at each grade level. We are very proud of our academic and extracurricular programs that we offer our students. This year we received $90,171.12 from the Arkansas School Recognition and Awards Program based on our students’ performance and growth on state tests. Our PTO sponsored Bronco Academy offers a variety of after school clubs and activities throughout the year to meet the many and varied interests of our students.
You are welcome any time and we would love to have you drop by for a visit and/or tour!
